How Capsel transformed All creatures great and small

In Summer 2016 Capsel donated 12 days’ worth of free labour to renovate a large property owned by the much loved All Creatures Great and Small Animal Sanctuary in Cwmbran.

Capsel decided to offer up free labour after visiting the charity and hearing from staff how much they rely on donations and gifts in kind to keep the sanctuary running.

Capsel were appointed to renovate the property on behalf of south Wales estate agents Roberts & Co. Work included painting and decorating the entire property, laying two new floors and fitting a new kitchen.

Rent coming in from tenants living in the property is ploughed straight back into the sanctuary and forms one of the most important income streams for All Creatures Great and Small. Therefore it was vital that the renovation work was carried out, to make the property a desirable, modern home for tenants.

All Creatures Great and Small has helped many thousands of injured, abused, unwanted and orphaned animals with rehabilitation and re-homing since it opened in 1992.

All Creatures Great and Small Centre Manager Matt Nicholls said: “The house we have on site is one of our biggest assets and an integral part of our income. The house was looking quite tired, so the renovation work was vital. It’s totally transformed the building and we’re very grateful to Capsel.”

Capsel Heating Manager Mark Parry said: “We wanted to help All Creatures Great and Small after visiting the sanctuary and hearing the touching stories about the animals that live here. We know how tough it is to keep a place like this running and we’re just happy we were able to help.”
